Bio:

“Hi I’m Brenda! A Las Cruces native, raised in the East Mesa area and proudly raising my family here. I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetic Sciences from New Mexico State University.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to serving individuals and families in the Doña Ana County community. My experience includes addressing food insecurity through organizations such as Roadrunner Food Bank and Casa de Peregrinos , supporting survivors of domestic violence and their families at La Casa, Inc., and working with children in Treatment Foster Care who have experienced significant abuse, neglect, and trauma. These experiences have given me a profound appreciation for the resilience, strength, and capacity for healing that individuals and families possess, even in the face of overwhelming challenges.

As a Licensed Associate in Marriage and Family Therapy (LAMFT), I have collaborated extensively with multiple systems, including the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD), schools, medical providers, and community agencies to support children and families with complex needs.

I have experience providing individual, family, and couples therapy – helping clients navigate relationship challenges, strengthen communication, heal from trauma, process grief, navigate through significant transition periods (marriage, childbirth, a new job, school), and foster healthier connections with themselves and others.

Experiencing trauma or significant life stressors can affect every aspect of a person’s life, relationships, and sense of well-being. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate these challenges, build on their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I view therapy as a collaborative process, where healing and growth occur through a strong therapeutic partnership. My goal is to meet clients where they are, honor their unique experiences, and move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for them. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and authentic environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their journey.

I believe that every person deserves compassionate care and an individualized approach that fosters hope, resilience, and lasting change.”
